Baby Beehive

I know it appears that in all of my outfit posts I'm always in my jeans, but I promise that I do wear other things! It just so happens that I've been in them a lot lately! Anyway, I wore this outfit when I went to liverpool the other day to go shopping (if you haven't been, I recommend you do, Its brilliant for shopping.) My outfit is inspired by the 60s, with this adorable top coming from topshop! And yes, I'm in my jeans again! I have this gorgeous 1950s scarf that you'll often see me with it wrapped around my head, I love it! My mum got it in a jumble sale when she was younger and it reads "World congress of women, June, 1953" all around the outside in different languages, and just inside of that there are little women from all over the world holding hands to make the border. I just love how colourful it is! My bouffant hairstyles are still in practice, as I often find that after about half an hour they have collapsed down the back of my head. They need a lot of practice if you want big hair! So in these pictures I've only managed a small one, I'll let you know when I manage a proper one!
The key to 1960s makeup is a big cat-eye flick and neutral lipstick/gloss, that's what I've attempted here! 

Shopping again..

This post is just to show you my new top! I'm not going anywhere important, but like I said, everyday is dress up day! I got it from River Island, not somewhere I usually shop at, but I saw it was only £20 and couldn't leave it there! Also, my shorts are high waisted and are from Urban Outfitters.  

The most important wardrobe staple!

One item that every girl cannot live without I'm sure, are the good old battered pair of jeans hanging around in the wardrobe getting ready for the days when you've had one too many biscuits and are left wanting to throw all of your dresses out of the window thinking you look pregnant with triplets when you wear them...trust me, I know the feeling! I totally rely on my jeans, they're my saviour! If you haven't got that all important denim goodness in your drawers, I suggest you go and get some now. Go on! In my opinion, it is quite difficult to find the right pair of jeans. I went round the shops for literally hours trying to find the perfect pair, a pair that didn't make me look like an oddly shaped enlarged slug, or a pair that didn't make me look like my belly and gravity were best friends, trying to climb over the top of the jeans. No matter how long it takes, when you've got them, its love. I got mine in Zara. I often find that the jeans in there are paticularly good, as jeans tend to be the hardest item of clothing to buy because they vary in sizes so much depending on what shop you go to. In some shops I'm a size 8, and in others I'm a 14! If you look at the pictures below, mine are slim fit jeans, and I gave them a vintage look (note this!) by turning them up at the ankles. 

Interior design and displaying things

I thought I'd show you my room, as I - trying not to sound full of it - am quite proud of it. I believe in displaying things, and everything doesn't have to be stored away in a cupboard for a room to look nice. Even the smallest of things like a piece of old material hanging on a vintage style frame; it all adds to the room. Because my great grandmother used to be a seamstress for Buckingham Palace (pretty cool huh?), all of her old material got passed down, I own a lot of it now. I love to sew, so I make clothes with it, display it, and do anything with it that means it isn't hidden away at the back of a forgotten drawer with some old socks. I love vintage everything (as you've probably guessed by now!) Therefore everything I do is vintage inspired. If you're thinking of decorating your room, don't think it has to cost a lot! I have literally not bought anything in my room (and no, that doesn't mean I've stolen it!), it just means I have found things in my house, my family and grandparents have given me old things, I make things..the list is endless. All I'm trying to say is, it doesn't have to cost a fortune! And don't use my limited space as an excuse either, my room is the smallest room in the house (including the toilets) and a size you could easily compare to a borrowers shoebox! Every day hairstyles can be done with some imagination!

The picture attached to this post is the hairstyle I had today for school. I know, its a little over done. But that's just me; everyday is dress up day. You can ask anyone I know, and everyone will say the same thing: I always make an effort! I can't help it haha! Everytime I go out- even for school, yes- I try and look my best. Make a statement. I hate it when people just sit back and blend into the crowd of society, dressing the same and acting the same. It's so monotonous. All I'm trying to say is, if there are any girls out there still at school like me, thinking that you have to have the same old boring ponytail for 6 years of high school: you don't. And there is no excuse for not knowing how! If you go on YouTube there are plenty of channels showing you how to do quick and easy hairstyles. One of my favourites- The Cherry Dollface - showing you how to do just about every vintage hairstyle going. Try something new with your hair, I love it! I love to try wild new things with my hair, I think its great when people make statements with there appearance. Also, don't care what anyone else thinks; I don't! If you feel great, then 9 times out of 10 you look great too. I'll be posting some of my hairstyles in upcoming posts, so feel free to take inspiration from them! Make an effort with your hair; stand out. I like to stand out from the rest of my school, its great. Plus the compliments are pretty awesome haha! Yes I admit I have had some bad hair days, but then again, hasn't everyone? It's all about trying new things, finding what works for you. I have been stopped in the street before now for vintage fairs and bloggers, its pretty cool! So yeah, if you want to try something new with your hair or clothes? Go for it.
